Mike Little (little@apr.ua.edu) writes: A previous poster remarked on how the Covenant may view their weapons as religious artifacts as opposed to simple tools of self defense. I believe that is supported in Fall of Reach. The Master Chief recalls an incident where a Jackal fought hand-to-hand instead of picking up the assault rifle that lay near him. I feel that the Covenant may view human weapons as unclean much like they view the race.
But boy, just let a Grunt drop a full needler and I'm all over it, man. Nothing "unclean" about those babies. ;-)
Interestingly, one would think that the Covenant would be awfully constrained by the severity of their religious beliefs. They do seem to get by, though. Often quite painfully for us, too. ;-)
