The 300, Thermopylae, and Halo
On the forum, Brodingo (brody@redeyearmy.com) does some speculating regarding the fate of the Spartan II's (and John specifically) in light of both historical events (foreshadowing?) and the H2 musical track "Thermopylae Soon".
Sacrifice, betrayal... the various versions of the account vary, but his connections may hold some portent.
(And yes, you're right: the link has been made before, but, once again, clarity wins the day ;)
